Pray For Our Cardinals

I've been thinking about the conclave a lot (duh!) and how we have to pray for the Cardinals to listen to the Holy Spirit? Pray that they do the will of God and not their own, right? Ok good. Now here's where it gets a lil cray cray. (As you may guess, I've watched one too many exorcist movies in my life.)

They can't listen to the Holy Spirit if it's been drowned out by the devil. I mean Satan is going to be trying his damnedest to plug the airways. His goal is to deter them from electing a good and holy man, the man God has already chosen to become pope. I've heard from friends in seminary that the spirtual warfare occurring their is beyond belief. Can you imagine at our conclave? The devil has claimed equal stakes in ensuring it fails as we have in ascertaining the election God's choice for pope.

So like most other Catholic, I've committed to praying for the guys. But unlike most other Catholics I'm pretty bad at following through with my prayer commitments. So to help me out with this I made this lil guy for my phone and iPad.

I've made it my locked screen so that during all those little times when I'm bored in an elevator, at a stop light, or waiting in the cafeteria line and I pull out my phone for distraction I'll have a reminder to pray. I just timed it an I can say the prayer to St. Michael in 6 second flat. That's a lot of prayers I could be saying. I'm specifically picking St. Michael the Archangel as an intercessor but we all know Mama Mary is pretty good for protection as well. (If you're interested I have a pretty crazy story about spiritual warfare and praying to St. Michael and Mary.)

If you're interested in picking Mary as your intercessor here's a pretty BA picture from Mantled Catholic Clothing.

If you want to be a real Papal Prayer Warrior, you can even buy a version of this shirt. Bonus they come with scapular's in them already!

So there's my commitment. It's online and everything so that means I have to do it.

  1. Spiritual warfare is no joke. My brother is a priest, and the other man who was ordained with him suffered a terrible attack the night before his ordination. Ole red legs knows when something powerful is about to happen. Pray, pray, pray!!!

    1. That's straight-up scary, Micaela. My 2nd oldest (nearly 15) is in a discernment program and I'm beginning to realize that I need to step up the prayer for him even more.
